I am eligible for my sixth shot in three weeks, should I get it? I have had Covid twice (once was my fault, the other time is was an unmasked kids fault) and I wear a high quality mask everywhere I go, even though I’m nearly the only one, but the safety it’s provided me is obvious, plus healthcare workers stop and thank me ALL THE TIME.

That's tough to say and probably boils down to personal preference. How long has it been since your last dose (or previous infection)? If you've already had five vaccine doses and Covid twice then the getting another dose a bit sooner or later is probably not going to change things significantly.

The rule of thumb I'd use is:

A) If you get a dose sooner then you'll likely have stronger more immediate protection, but perhaps miss out some on stronger long-term protection.

B) If you wait longer between doses (3-6+ months since last dose) then you won't get any immediate protection (obviously), but will likely build stronger long-term protection.

So, it kind of depends on how concerned you are about rising cases now and the immediate future (January/February) versus trying to build the best long-term protection you can. Personally, I'd try to wait 3-4 months since your last dose/infection before getting a booster if you can. But, on the other hand, a dose now might be in time to help with the rest of the winter wave.

In the end, I don't think I have a good answer for you, but hopefully that helps some!

Thanks! I'm going to keep posting them occasionally, maybe every 1-2 weeks during this winter wave, and hopefully less frequently once things wind down again.
